Microsoft Team is Seeking to Improve Centerpiece of Windows UI

And the Core Experiences features characterize the new Windows UI, representing start screen, application lifecycle, windowing and personalization, pretty much most of what customers touch and see in operating system, for the purpose of enhancing ease of use and the overall user experience on devices and PCs worldwide, Windows Blue pledges to build upon and improve these aspects of OS.

It's also said that multiple Microsoft platforms such as Windows 2012 server, the mobile OS Windows Phone 8 and applications like SkyDrive and Hotmail will be included in Windows Blue Updates. The updates will be launched on a regular basis, which will put an end to years of gap between Windows 7 and Windows 8 with little improvements in between.
